PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (aka PTSD) is misunderstood and portrayed only through stereotypes in the media. But PTSD is more complicated than flashbacks and war memories. People with PTSD feel hypervigilant, unable to fully relax, feeling eternally unsafe. There are triggers they didn’t even know existed that pop up in everyday life. There are phantom pains, nightmares, ghosts, and constant fear.

This piece represents the turmoil and pain experienced by those with PTSD. To show the viewer the layers of daily struggle faced and the memories that come back to haunt us.
